PURPOSE:To measure the distance with high precision by obtaining a stereo image which is necessary for a distance measuring device from an object without being influenced by the dispersion of the characteristic of an image pick-up element. CONSTITUTION:The first optical system which focuses the image of an object as one image of a stereo image onto the first image pick-up surface 14a of a single image pick-up element 14 and the second optical system which is arranged in parallel to the first optical system and focuses the image of the object as an other one image of the stereo image on the second image pick-up surface 14b of the image pick-up element 14 are provided. The image of the object is focused onto the first and second image pick-up surfaces 14a and 14b of the single image pick-up element 14, and a stereo image is obtained. Accordingly, the stereo image can be obtained without being influenced by the dispersion of the characteristic of the image pick-up element, and the distance measurement with high precision is enabled. |
