PURPOSE:To improve the productivity of a copying operation by replacing a document in a short time and to improve the productivity of the copying operation by starting the reading of the document by an exposure optical system immediately when the document replacement is completed without increasing the probability of jam occurrence. CONSTITUTION:The axial center connection line connecting the axial center of the driving roll 26a of a registration roll device 26 and the axial center of the pinch roll 26b is arranged nearby a document copying position slantingly to the top surface of platen glass. A rear end passage detection sensor which detects the passage of the rear end of the document is provided on halfway in the conveyance path where the document is conveyed from a document stand-by position to the document copying position to make the exposure optical system reach the platen registration position speedily after the document reaches the copying position. |
