PURPOSE:To provide an edge light type illuminator which can guide the light from a linear light source to a light guiding plate efficiently. CONSTITUTION:The edge light type illuminator consists of the linear light source 1, the light guiding plate 2, a reflecting plate 3, a light cover 4, a light diffusion plate 5, and a light guiding part 6 and has a curved surface which reflects and guides the light emitted to the opposite side from the light guide plate 2 about the center of the light source 1 to the light guide plate side so that the light does not strike on the external wall of the linear light source 1 on the opposite side from the light guide plate 2 while it is considered that the linear light source 1 has the light source in the center, and the light guiding part 6 is made of a transparent resin. |
