PURPOSE:To cause a hot-melt adhesive to foam by merely heating it to a prescribed temperature and to make it possible to use the foamed adhesive easily and economically. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of foaming materials 2 microencapsulated by enclosing a gaseous material 2a, such as a gas or a gaseous thermal decomposition product, in containers 2b which melt at higher temperature than does a hot-melt adhesive 1 are arranged in a hot melt-adhesive 1 to form a foamable hot-melt adhesive 3. The adhesive 3 is melted in a tank 4 by heating and conveyed by appropriate amounts by pressure while it is heated to a temperature at which the containers 2b of the foaming material 2 melt, so that the gas in the containers 2b is released and the adhesive 3 is ejected in a foamed state. |
