PURPOSE:To increase the filtration rate and to make the taste of coffee mild by using a nonwoven fabric of specified METSUKE (unit) made of a hydrophobic thermoplastic org. polymer, consisting of a superfine fiber below specified fineness and having a fiber fused region at its one part as the filter medium. CONSTITUTION:A nonwoven fabric 10 of 3-25g/m<2> METSUKE made of a hydrophobic thermoplastic org. polymer, consisting of a superfine fiber of <=0.2 denier and having a fiber fused region 11 at its one part is used as the filter medium. A combined material with at least one supporting nonwoven fabric consisting of a fiber of >0.2 denier is also used as the filter medium. The nonwoven fabric 10 is preferably formed from PP fibers or PE fibers. Since the superfine fiber high in uniformity is thus used, the filtration rate is increased, the leakage of fine coffee powder and oil is reduced, and clarified coffee tasting mild is obtained. Furthermore, the wet strength is enhanced because of its hydrophobicity. |
