PURPOSE:To obtain a cloth having soft touch and balanced stiffness by forming the cloth with a blended conjugate fiber consisting of plural kinds of laminate type, sea-island type or a mixed structure thereof made of mutually different polymers, and subjecting the cloth to dividing treatment. CONSTITUTION:(A) A laminate type conjugate fiber of >=4 layers consisting of a combination of two mutually different kinds of polymers such as polyester/ polyamide, polyester/polyolefin is blended with (B) laminate type conjugate fiber having <=3 layers and (C) conjugate fiber having sea-island type or a mixed structure of sea-island type and laminate type at a ratio of the components A:B+C of 60:40 to 90:10 and the components B:C of 10:90 to 90:10 to form a blended conjugate fiber. Cloth of fabric or nonwoven fabric is formed according to ordinary method using the above-mentioned blended conjugate fiber and then the blended conjugate fiber is divided by high pressure water jet or chemical treatment to form a cloth consisting of an ultrafine fiber. |
