PURPOSE:To obtain an in-focus photograph by correcting an error introduced based upon an arithmetic time for calculating the moving speed of a moving subject as to the moving subject. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 3 calculates a defocusing quantity with measurement data obtained by a range finding sensor 1 and calculates the relative moving direction and moving speed of the subject in the optical-axis direction from the defocusing quantity. Then a lens driving circuit 4 is controlled according to the calculation result of the CPU 3 to drive the focusing lens 100 to a position where focusing is obtained at a position where the object is to move a specific time later. A driving control means performs drives the focusing lens 100 by a movement quantity corresponding to the time required for range finding operation of a range finding means according to the value calculated by the CPU 3. |
