PURPOSE:To control running of a vehicle at a constantly proper car speed not according to various road surface states. CONSTITUTION:A cornering radius detecting computer 18a estimates the cornering radius of a curve running road, based on a car speed, a steering angle, or a picture in front of a vehicle. A road surface mu detecting computer 20a estimates a friction factor mu of a road surface, based on rain drops and an open air temperature. An auto drive computer calculates a limit cornering speed, based on a cornering radius and a rod surface mu and causes running of a vehicle at a constant speed lower than the limit cornering speed.
