<p>PURPOSE:To simplify a loading/unloading mechanism part by making operators enclose and discharge a magnetic tape cartridge directly from a cell drum. CONSTITUTION:A motion in a loading/unloading mode is started according to the instruction of a loading/unloading start instruction means 16, and after the rotation and stoppage of a storing rack 13 are conducted based on the instruction of a storing rack selecting means 18, a door 12 is made open according to the instruction of a door opening instruction means 15 to make operators access a recording medium 14 directly and enclose and discharge into and out of the storing rack 13. If the closure of a door closing means 19 or the door 12 is detected, the motion in a loading/ unloading mode is continued after memorizing a cell line 23 facing the door 12 of the storing rack 13. Next, the motion is stopped according to the instruction of a loading/unloading completion instruction means, and the recording medium 14 is taken out of respective cells 7 for respective cell lines 23, and transported by drive devices 9, 10. Besides, the recording medium identification code of respective medium 14 is read out, control tables 21 which correspond to the medium 14 for respective cell are established, and then indexing of the medium 14 designated by a host device 22 is carried out.</p> |
