PURPOSE:To improve the wiping performance when cleaning is carried out by a method wherein the discharge opening forming surface of an ink-jet recording head is wiped. CONSTITUTION:A wiping device such as a rubber blade, etc., is slid along the spout-mounting surface and foreign matter such as thickened ink, etc., attached on the discharge opening forming surface or around the discharge opening is removed (step S61). In advance to the step S61, the area around the discharge opening is previously heated (step S59). Thereby, the thickened ink is softened and easily removed by wiping. |
