A tubular film bag package, in particular for sanitary towels and the like, is made from a web of film by gluing or welding the opposite edge regions along a longitudinal seam to form a flexible tube which envelops the packaged articles and sealing the ends with two media-tight parallel transverse seams. The package has at least one opening aid for tearing the package open rapidly and completely so that the contents can be removed. The package is characterized in that a longitudinal strip (10) of the web of film (11) projects loosely above the longitudinal seam (5) and consists of tearing tongues (12a, 12b, 12c, etc.) bounded by tearing notches (13a, 13b, 13c) at comparatively short, repetitive longitudinal distances (A1, A2, A3, etc.) apart.
