摘要

A novel organic solvent based thermosetting coating compsn. comprises (I) a hydroxy functional urethane modified polyester resin having a number ave mol. wt. (Mn) of 2000-20000 which is the prod. of reacting polymsd. lactone monomers with OH-contg. urethane modified polyester precursor having reactive OH gps. wherein the polymsn. mixt. contains 10-80 wt. % of the precursor and 90-20 wt. % lactone monomers; and (II) amine-aldehyde crosslinking agent. The precursor has (i) (Mn) of 1000-1000 (-i) OH number of 30-3000 (iii) 1-10 urethane gps. per molecule claimed is the use of the compsn. contg. 60-80 wt. % solids as a chip resistant primer to be sprayed at elevated temp.
