PURPOSE:To use a reproduction dedicated type medium such as a CD-ROM and a recording/reproduction type medium such as a DRAW type optical disk or a magneto-optical disk in a single device. CONSTITUTION:In an optical disk device provided with a semiconductor laser 1A and the optical system of an optical path leading outgoing light from a nuclear semiconductor laser 1A to a medium 8, an attenuating filter 20 attenuating passing light is provided in the midway of the light path attachably and detachably so that the attenuating filter 20 can be inserted in the midway of the light path only when the medium 8 is of reproduction dedicated type. |
