PURPOSE:To measure the optimum quantity of recording beam by conducting required recording in DRAW type recording provided with a Power Calibration Area(PCA). CONSTITUTION:A laser driving power source 22 is controlled based on the command of a microcomputer 10, and in response to a recording command or a recording queueing command after the loading of an optical disk 1, the information for beam quantity measurement obtained by gradually changing the recording beam quantity is recorded in the PCA area of the disk 1 via an optical pickup 2. By reproducing the record of gradually changing the beam quantity, the measurement of the optimum recording beam quantity can be executed without missing and without inconvenience such as the shortage in the remaining PCA area capacity. |
