PURPOSE:To reduce the burden of an operator by editing/operating a sentence when the sentence is divided into plural blocks and automatically shifting a character string with the next block. CONSTITUTION:An operator transfers a reception document accumulated in a disk device 22 so as to start an editing processing by the operation of a document editing device 1. At that time, the operator designates an order that the sentence is linked from the content of character information in the reception document by a position input device 14. The character string is inserted and erased for respective blocks. The document editing device 1 accordingly moves up and down the subsequent characters, judges the increase/decrease of the block and shifts the character string from the next head block. In such a case, the operator designates the block order and makes the character string automatically interlock with each other by jumping respective blocks. Thus, the editing work of the operator is facilitated. |
