PURPOSE:To obtain an arithmetic circuit for fuzzy control that can perform a high speed inference in the small memory capacity. CONSTITUTION:A data memory used for inference of a conditional part is divided into a memory 1 which stores the membership functions equal to the number of levels and a memory 6 which stores a control rule after coding it. A collective access is applied to each level to the input and the grades of these access results are stored in a register group 5. At the same time, a rule is reed out of e rule memory 6 and synthesized with the grade data. Thus the memory capacity can be reduced without reducing the inferring speed so much end therefore the formation of a one-chip structure is extremely facilitated. Furthermore the data writing time/labor can be reduced owing to the reduction of the memory capacity. Then the yield, the test facilitation, etc., can be improved.
