Building brick - is of two bonded bodies where part of one is geo-polymer material with joint of the same material

The brick (1) material, for buildings, is formed by bonding two bodies (2,3) together with an adhesive at their joint. At least part of the shaped body (2) is of a geopolymer material, and the joint seal is of the same material as that part of the body (2). Pref. the joint seal and/or the material for the shaped body (2) is foamed. Another part of the shaped body (3) is an inorganic porous material. The geopolymer material is a solid mixture of SiO2, Al2O3, filter ash, calcinated bauxite and amorphous silicic acid. A hardener for reaction is an alkali silicate soln. The geopolymer material has an oxygen sepg. foaming agent. The jointing material is conditioned to make it at last a barrier for fluid. A part of the shaped body (3) is a concrete-type material, using a bonding agent which forms carbonate or hydrate, especially lightweight concrete, aerated concrete and the like, or it is of ceramics, clay, loam and the like. The surface reinforcement is through perforated plates, grids, mats or the like, extending into the shaped body (2,3) or the joint. A plate and cube-shaped base body is coated on at least one side surface with a layer of the same material as the joint. The joint material matches the structure of the geopolymer material of the shaped body (2). The material for the body (2) has density of 0.1-1.0 g/cm-3 and the joint material has a density of 0.2-2.0 g/cm-3 and pref. more than 1.0 g/cm-3. ADVANTAGE - The brick can be used universally in building construction, incurs low mfg. costs, has high fire resistance, and meets the physical characteristics for the building structure and its interior walls and floors. It can be used for prefabricated installations, chimneys and walls.
