A person without any great manual skill can paper a ceiling with the aid of an apparatus which is mounted on a trolley (1). The apparatus consists of an extending ladder with the lower part (4) attached to the trolley by hinges (5) and held vertically by struts (6). The upper part (7) of the ladder carries a pressure roller (8) and a guide roller (9). After paste has been applied to the paper it is pressed against the celing by the pressure roller (8) which is moved upwards by raising the upper part (7) of the extending ladder. The roll of paper is placed on the platform (10) and the paper is passed around the guide roller (9) as it is unwound by moving the trolley along the floor.
