The electric typewriter (1) has two type wheels and two keyboards has interchangeable key head sets. Both type wheels are mounted horizontally adjacent to each other on a common type wheel carriage. Each wheel has its own control and stop mechanism which is operated from its associated keyboard. The keyboard has an easily changed key head set. The different key head sets are encribed with different alphabets according to the type wheels with which they are to be used. USE/ADVANTAGE - The electric typewriter can conveniently be used with two types of text or two alphabets on the same sheet of paper. A conventional typewriter normally having only one type wheel can be so equipped during manufacture or retrospectively.
