Cable gland fitting device - uses pressurised air for expansion of cable gland during fitting

The device allows a resilient cable gland (4) to be fitted around an electrical cable (5) with an outer dia equal to, ir slightly greater than, the inner dia of the cable gland, (4) using pressurised air to form an annular gap between the cable (5) and the cable gland (4), to allow their relative displacement.The cable gland (4) fits tightly around the cable (5) when perssurised air is removed. Pref the cable gland (4) is received by a 2-part tool (1,2) defining a seating which is complementary to the outer configuration of the cable gland (4) and which has a central feed channel (9,10) for the cable (5). A cable runner (7) is controlled by a switch (8) which may be of mechanical hydraulic, optical, or electronic type. ADVANTAGE - Ensures tight fit between cable gland and cable.
