The lockable articulated joint for use on furniture elements has a bearing housing (6) contg. a rotary pin (5) connected to a swivel component. The bearing housing and pin each have at least one recess (8,11) whereby at least one locking element which can be moved from outside by an unlocking element, bridges the associated recesses in the bearing housing and rotary pin in the locked position and thus locks the rotary pin relative to the housing. The locking element can be connected to a spring element (10) through which the locking element is biased in the locking direction. ADVANTAGE - Easily unlockable joint providing a rigid connection.
