A floor covering film (I) based on polyolefin(s) or polyolefin-contg. layer(s) or film(s) is claimed; (I) is 160-1000 microns thick, with at least 3 layers of films comprising (A) an upper transparent layer 100-800 microns thick based on polyolefin with little or no filler, and (B) lower layer(s) based on polyolefin and 10-150 pts. wt. inorganic filler(s) and/or pigment(s) (per 100 pts. wt. polymer) and (C) a layer of adhesive (C1), adhesive film (C2), coupling agent (C3) and/or reactant (C4) between (A) and (B) and/or beneath (B). Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of (I), by laminating and/or stamping at 100-160 deg.C. or by co-extrusion coating at 130-230 deg.C. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is useful for the prodn. of flooring elements such as blocks, boards, parquet etc. made of wood, chipboard etc., with (I) fixed to the upper surface with an adhesive, either directly or via an intermediate layer; this adhesive is based on formaldehyde resin, UF, MF or PF resin and/or other thermosetting adhesives, or on a dispersion adhesive.
