The cover is particularly for trenches in workshop floors, and comprises plates supported by profiled members fixed to the trench edge. These members(4) are of right-angle section, with a horizontal flange (4a) forming the supporting surface. They are secured to profiled mountings (3), in turn fixed to the ground. Cushions(6) of resilient material such as plastic or rubber can be mounted on the supporting surfaces, being typically clamped, glued or screwed to them. The members can be welded together, or secured by bolts in elongated holes, so as to allow adjustment in the vertical direction. ADVANTAGE - Prevents rattling as vehicles etc. travel over.
