PURPOSE:To improve the molten zinc and thermal shock resistances of a thermally sprayed coating film formed on the surface of a member for a hot dip galvanizing bath in a hot dip galvanizing apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an iron-based material is coated with a laminated thermally sprayed coating film obtd. by forming a cementation layer of Al or an Al-Zn alloy by diffusion, immersion, packing or other method on the surface of a thermally sprayed layer of nonoxide ceramics such as carbide or boride or cermet composed of the ceramics and a metal. Since the laminated thermally sprayed coating film has improved molten zinc and thermal shock resistances, the service life of a member for a hot dip galvanizing bath can be prolonged. Since the contamination of molten zinc can be prevented, a hot dip galvanized steel sheet having high quality can safely be produced. |
