PURPOSE:To reduce the control ampereturn of a control winding and the resistance of the shunt winding circuit by connecting the series circuit of a shunt field winding and the shunt winding circuit resistor between the center and the ground of two armature windings. CONSTITUTION:A series circuit formed of a starting resistor 3, a permanent series resistor 4, two armature windings 5, 6 each having a commutator, an auxiliary winding 7 and a series field winding 8 is connected between the electrodes of a power source 1, and a control field winding 12 excited by the output of an automatic frequency controller AVR is provided. The series circuit of the shunt winding circuit resistor 10 and the shunt field winding 11 is connected between the center of two armature windings 5, 6 and the ground. Since the potential difference between the center of the two armature windings and the ground thus becomes less than a half of the voltage of the power source 1, the capacity of the shunt winding resistor 10 can be reduced, and since the variation in the generated ampereturn of the shunt winding 11 becomes desired characteristic, the number of turns of the winding 12 can be reduced. |
