<p>The invention relates to a process for controlling the correct unclamping of the blocks (12,14) of a brake and of the state of wear of the friction linings (16,18), which brake is equipped with sensors (34,36) for detecting the position of the blocks, sensors (30,32) for detecting the wear of the friction linings, a relay for faults capable of causing the machine to stop when the position (34,36) and wear (30,32) sensors have detected insufficient unclamping of the blocks or wear of the linings, and means for processing the information received from the said sensors (30,32 and 34,36). The process consists in automatically simulating, in a cyclic fashion and permanently, a defect in unclamping of the blocks and wear of the friction linings, so as to test the operation of the said defect relay and of the said processing means, and in automatically resetting, after each defect and wear simulation, the said defect relay to bring it into its normal state. <IMAGE></p> |
