<p>A closed circuit is formed by the tissue parts located between the electrodes, and the signals tranasmitted are alternating current pulses, the appts. for signal generation (1, 3, 6, 7, 11) being connected to the mains via a transformer. At least one transforming function occurs between the signal generator appts. and the electrodes. Signal generation is controlled by a control unit (1), generating predetermined signal sequences which are stored in a memory unit (11). THe signals are generated in at least two separate signal generation branches (2), each of which feeds one or more channels (9), which in turn feed at least one electrode pair. The signals from two or more branches are coordinated so that the branches work synchronously, or with a specific, predetermined phase displacement relatively to one another.</p> |
