<p>PURPOSE: To provide an electrochemical motor for fluid control, for a control valve or the like, capable of continuously operating with accuracy over a wide dynamic range including such low speed that normal devices may stop. CONSTITUTION: This electrochemical control valve, for converting DC electrical energy into compressed gas energy for use in producing mechanical work, comprises a rigidly supported electrolyte film 10 and permeable electrodes 11, 13 provided on its surface. A device is placed within a hermetic container in such a way as to be divided into an accumulation chamber 32 for supplying an electrochemically active gas and a pump chamber 34 having a bellows 38, and allows the gas to pass through according to the direction of a DC voltage supplied to the electrodes 11, 13, to drive a needle valve 40 attached to the bellows 38. The action of the device is linear movement, which can be controlled accurately to actually instantaneously respond to changes in the DC voltage supplied.</p> |
