PURPOSE:To prevent flickers of discharge lamps by stabilizing the restriking actions of the discharge lamps with a simple circuit structure in a lighting device of the variable-color discharge lamps lighting multiple discharge lamps with different luminous colors. CONSTITUTION:Periods of excitation signals (a), (b), (c) fed to switching elements of discharge lamps are set to integer times 1/f, where (f) is the driving frequency of an inverter circuit. The rising and fall timing of the excitation signals (a), (b), (c) is controlled synchronously with the inverter driving signal (s). Wave- forms at the time of restriking of the discharge lamps can be stabilized, and flickers of the discharge lamp at the time of dimming can be prevented. |
