PURPOSE:To reduce the current consumption of an optical repeater transmission equipment in an optical transmission system. CONSTITUTION:In the optical transmission system where a master transmission equipment (master) 17, plural slave transmission equipments (slaves) 18a to 18n, and an optical repeater transmission equipment (repeater) 16 which restores the optical signal sent from the master and a attenuated are provided and data is transmitted and received between the master and slaves by polling by the master, only a circuit which detects a wake-up frame (frame signal) in the repeater us set to the operating state at the time or holding, and all circuits are set to the operating state at the time of detecting the frame signal. The frame signal is generated and is sent to slaves following the repeater just after detection of the frame signal, and the detected signal is decoded, and sending of the frame signals to slaves following the repeater is stopped if the signal is not the frame signal. The timing of switching from the holding state to the operating state of the repeater is determined in accordance with the installation position of the repeater in each slave. |
