PURPOSE:To facilitate maintenance by preventing faulty fixing and secondary fault caused by temperature rise in a machine when a fan is out of order. CONSTITUTION:Fan motors 1, 2 and 3 provided with lock detecting function output signals in accordance with their conditions. While the fan is rotating, the signals output continuous pulses twice per rotation. However, in the case that the fan is out of order and locked, the output becomes either a high level or a low level. The signal is detected by a fan motor fault detecting task 8 in a CPU 4, and a set temperature from a controlled temperature constant area 10 in a ROM 5 is selected by the fan, which is out of order, then the value of the set temperature is written in a controlled temperature variable area 7 in a RAM 6. While detecting the temperature of a fixing roller by a temperature detector, a fixing device temperature control task 9 turns on/off a heater 30 to set the temperature at the value in the area 7 through a heater driving circuit 11, thereby keeping the temperature of the fixing roller constant. |
