Apparatus for the production of looped multifilament yarn consisting of continuous synthetic filaments comprises a nozzle with a lateral air inlet and a central yarn-guiding tube projecting into the nozzle duct and terminating in an elliptical outlet. As shown, yarn 8 passes through a tube 3 projecting through a nozzle 1 into a duct 4. An air stream entering the interior 2 through an inlet 5 draws the yarn through the tube 3 from which it is withdrawn in such manner that it abuts the upper outlet edge 10 of the bevelled end thereof, thus ensuring that the eddying air stream in the duct 4 produces uniform twisting and looping in the yarn. Several tubes 3 (not shown) may be arranged in juxtaposition in the apparatus. |
