发明名称 MODULAR GRAY CODE COUNTER
摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a completely synchronizing module type gray code counter. CONSTITUTION: This gray code counter 10 is provided with synchronizing module type circuits 12, 14 and 16 for each of three types of bit positions, that is, the least significant bit(LSB), the most significant bit(MSB) and intermediate bit(MB). The MB circuits 16 in only the number necessary for applying a counter having the desired number of bits are used between one LSB circuit 12 and one MSB circuit 14. The constitution of the LSB, MSB, and MB circuits is obtained as a truly module type, and another MB circuit can be freely connected between the LSB circuit and the MSB circuit for applying the desired number of counter bits without correcting any input or output interface between the circuits. This counter can be operated by any of count-up or count-down according to a normally gray code sequence.
