PURPOSE: To provide satisfactory transmitting characteristics over a wide fre quency range by tilting a disc to the propagating direction of a microwave so that an angle made by the propagating direction and the normal of the disc can be equivalent to a Brewster angleαB, and a plane formed by the propa gating direction and the normal of the disc can be coplanar with the polarizing direction of the microwave. CONSTITUTION: This microwave window having wide width is provided with at least one disc 4 tilted correspondingly to a Brewster angle to the propagating direction of the microwave. A transparent plate 4 for the microwave is provided with parallel plane and flat main surfaces. A plane formed by the propagating direction 3 and the normal of the disk 4 is made coplanar with the polarizing direction of the microwave. The window is suitable as a catcher window for a standard optical gyrotron or the incident window of a fusing chamber or a microwave calorimeter.
