PURPOSE:To obtain a cordless telephone equipment capable of speech in the portable system between a master machine and a slave machine. CONSTITUTION:When a trunk line L connected to a master machine and an AC power source of this cordless telephone equipment are disconnected in the case of local speaking to a slave machine 2, a CPU 27 detects this disconnection by a trunk line voltage detecting circuit 12 and AC power source information to switch a switch SW to the side of a battery 26. The speech channel to the slave machine 2 is switched to a prescribed channel, and this switching information is transmitted to the slave machine 2 to switch the speech channel on the side of the slave machine 2 to a prescribed channel. Transceiver speech is performed between the cordless telephone equipment and the slave machine 2 through the prescribed channel switched in this manner. In this case, an independent telephone set 3 is connected through a trunk line L through modular connectors 4 and 5 for the purpose of coping with trunk line speech passing the trunk line L or incoming from the trunk line L.
