PURPOSE:To recognize the presence of a base station automatically through the senses in a vehicle or in a city by devising the portable telephone set such that the portable telephone set automatically informs its availability when the portable telephone set reaches the inside of the service area of the base station. CONSTITUTION:The portable telephone set is provided with an antenna 9 receiving a communication signal representing the communication availability range in the service area of a base station. Moreover, a light 7, a buzzer 8 and a liquid crystal display section 5 displaying when the antenna 9 receives the communication signal representing the available communication of the base station are arranged on the front surface of the portable telephone set 1. Furthermore, a vibrator 10 including an eccentric drive motor in interlocking with the antenna 9, activated when the antenna 9 receives the communication signal representing the communication enable range of the base station and vibrating the telephone set 1 itself is removably provided to the lower part of the portable telephone set 1. Thus, whether or not the vehicle is resident in the service area of the base station is recognized by the light 7, the buzzer 8 or the vibrator 10 without seeking the base station while the vehicle is driven. |
