PURPOSE:To obtain the single crystal optical fiber having various nonlinear optical effects such as laser oscillation, optical amplification and high-frequency generation. CONSTITUTION:Y3Al5O12, Gd3Ga5O12, etc., or LiYF4, added with at least one kind selected from Nd, Cr, Ho, Ti, Ey, Lu, Ta, Ce, Pr, Dy, and Tb, is used as a core part. Or LiNbO3, Lilac,, etc., or those elements added with Mg or Ti are used. MgF2, ThF4, SiO2, LaF3, BaF2, GaF2, LiF, Na3AlF6, or NaF is used as the clad part enclosing the core part. The MgF2, ThF4, SiO2, LaF3, BaF3, GaF2, LiF, Na3AlF6, and NaF used for the clad have the sufficiently lower refractive index than the refractive index of the materials of the core part and have light losses at a negligible level. |
