PURPOSE:To supply a press-fitting method without falling out of the foil from the cylinder end surface by press-fitting the top part of the honeycomb body into the metal outer cylinder with a clamping restrained. CONSTITUTION:The top part of the honeycomb body is restrained with a clamp and subsequently the force is applied on the upper part with a press- fitting head and conducted the press-fitting and when the press-fitting head arrives the clamp place of the honeycomb body, the clamp is released and subsequently by press-fitting with the press-fitting head, the metal carrier without the falling out from the outer cylinder end surface and with a stable quality is produced. |
