<p>PURPOSE: To provide, for example, an electrooptical scanning device of high scanning speed capable of processing a short optical pulse to be supplied to a scanning device through a fast fiber, a scanning mechanism which can be used in both direction for deflecting an incident light wave from the device and (or) combining a light wave from outside with the device, and a scanning device with high optical resolution which weakens the side lobe of the deflected light wave and controls the opening part of the deflected light wave. CONSTITUTION: An electrooptical scanner including an optical waveguide 41 and an acoustic waveguide 42 arranged on a transparent substrate 40 and provided with mutual colinearity deflects a light wave to outside from the optical waveguide 41 by the colinearity acoustic optical interference of a a short surface acoustic wave advance diffraction grating 43 propagated within the acoustic waveguide 42 and the the light wave 44. The short advance diffraction grating 43 is generated by a wide band converter. This electrooptic scanner is applied variedly.</p> |
