An antioxidizing composition prepared by extracting sunflower seeds or residues of pressing thereof with water or an aqueous alcohol, and more particularly one wherein the aqueous alcohol is methanol and/or ethanol, one wherein the alcohol content of the aqueous alcohol is 90 vol % or less, and one wherein the alcohol content of the aqueous alcohol is 75 vol % or less; another antioxidizing composition prepared by hydrolyzing any of the above compositions and extracting the hydrolyzate with an organic solvent; a composition containing an oxidizable substance which comprises one member selected from among food and drink, medicines, quasi drugs and feed; and a composition wherein the oxidizable substance is one member selected from among oils, fat, natural coloring matters and vitamins.
