PURPOSE:To provide the catheter which does not give pains to a patient and can maintain the effect of preventing infectious diseases over a long period of time. CONSTITUTION:At least the surface of the part of the catheter body to be inserted into the cavity of a human body is formed of a resin contg. palladium and this layer is subjected to an electroless plating treatment with the palladium as an active layer, by which a metallic film of copper, silver, nickel, gold or the like having a sterilizing or bactericidal effect is formed on this surface layer. |
