<p>A high capacity hopper (10) is disclosed comprising a frame, a cylinder (12) mounted for rotation in the hopper (10), and a mount adapter (30) whose central axis is offset from the central axis of the cylinder (12). The offset causes the coins inserted into the hopper (10) to pile up against a wall (44) in the cylinder (12). Eventually, the coins agglomerate into a large mass and spill into the mount adapter (30) where they are picked up by a coin transport disc assembly (28). In addition, lift fingers (62) pick up coins from the coin agglomeration found against the wall (44) and lift then above the wall (44) so that they fall into the mount adapter (30). <IMAGE></p> |
