PURIFYING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DIESEL ENGINE EXHAUST GAS

PURPOSE:To purify both particulate and NOx stably while running in a purifying device and method for diesel engine exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:A secondary fuel feeding means 4 is provided in an exhaust gas line 3 from a diesel engine 1, and an exhaust gas purifying means 5 with a catalyst layer 5a is connected to the downstream side of its line. Also, oxygen sensors 6 and 7 are provided on the upstream and downstream sides of the catalyst layer 5a, respectively, and a temperature sensor 8 is provided in the catalyst layer 5a. Then the secondary fuel is fed to exhaust gas to burn it in the catalyst layer 5a through the catalyst to purify the exhaust gas.
