ERROR RECOVERY PROCESSING METHOD AND DEVICE

PURPOSE: To make it possible to obtain a complete copy of data stored in a primary storage means and to recover an error by substituting data in a backup storage means for data or a parity in a primary storage means when a parity error is detected. CONSTITUTION: A complete copy of data stored in a primary data array 13 is prepared in the backup storage means 15. When a parity error is detected by a logic circuit 35, all processing is stopped. When data stored in the means 15 coincide with a parity, data in the means 15 are substituted for data in the array 13. At the time of detecting the substitution of a parity error, data read out from the means 15 are used. Consequently an error caused in the array 13 can surely be recovered.
