PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber roll with little change in friction coefficient from the beginning of the use to the time after long-term use by performing a surface treatment of a rubber layer on the surface of the rubber roll with a chlorinated solvent or by irradiation with ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:A rubber roll having a rubber layer to be brought into contact with an article to be fed on the surface, wherein the surface of the rubber layer is surface-treated with a chlorinated solvent or by irradiation with ultraviolet rays or the rubber layer is compounded with a carbon black with the characteristics of ASTM code N356 or lower. This rubber roll can be used for a printer, a facsimile, a copying machine, a paper-feed roll, a platen roll, etc. A rubber layer to be brought into contact with an article to be fed, such as a printer paper or a plastic sheet, is formed on the surface. As the rubber ingredient for the rubber compsn. constituting the surface rubber layer, a butadiene rubber such as SBR or NBR is pref. used. |
