PURPOSE:To drive an EL element even when the source voltage of a DC power source is made low and to greatly suppress the voltage consumption of the EL element. CONSTITUTION:The driving circuit of the EL display device which applies the voltage of the DC power source to the EL element 2 through the ON/OFF operation of a switch is constituted by connecting a coil 3 or transformer in parallel to the EL element 2.
