PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber having excellent durable hydrophilicity and antistaticity by coordinating a specific metal ion to an amidoxime group of an acrylic fiber. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic fiber containing >=0.02mmol/g and <1mmol/g of amidoxime group is produced by treating a hydrophobic acrylic fiber with hydroxylammonium sulfate. The obtained fiber is treated with an aqueous solution containing a metal ion selected from titanium, zirconium, cobalt, nickel, zinc, calcium and aluminum to coordinate >=0.02mmol/g and <1mmol/g of the metal ion to the oxime group and obtain the objective acrylic fiber having excellent durable hydrophilicity and antistaticity. Comfortable clothes can be produced with the fiber. |
