PURPOSE:To obtain essence of leaves of Eucommia ulmoides oliver having high content of physiologically active substance. CONSTITUTION:Production of essence of leaves of Eucommia ulmoides oliver containing a physiologically active substance is characterized by treating raw material leaves so as to prevent decomposition of a physiologically active substance. Heating, electric ray treatment by an electronic oven, modifying treatment with an organic solvent such as an alcohol, treatment with a protein denaturing agent such as urea and surfactant or treatment with an acid or an alkali may be applied as the treatment of preventing decomposition of physiologically active substance. The representative example of the physiologically active substance is a component having effects on blood pressure, such as pinoresinol glucoside. |
