PURPOSE:To reduce the wiping area for the lubricating oil in a skeg by screwingly installing a drain plug in the front lower part of a gear case, forming a cutwater close to the rear part on the lower side of the drain plug of the skeg on the underside of the gear case and allowing the lubricating oil to be received by a small receiving plate. CONSTITUTION:The inside of a gear case 1 is charged with lubricating oil and formed to an oil bath, and a drain plug 6 is screwingly fitted in the front lower part of the gear case 1, and the lubricating oil is wiped off by demounting the drain plug 6. A plate shaped skeg 7 is projected on the underside of the gear case 1, and an upwardly scooped cut part 8 is formed at the front edge of the skeg 7 close to the rear part on the lower side of the drain plug 6, and the front lower edge of the cut part 8 is formed to a cutwater 9. When lubricating oil is discharged by demounting the drain plug 6, the lubricating oil which flows down along the front edge of the skeg 7 is shielded by the cutwater 9, and dripped from the cutwater 9. |
