FUNCTION-MODIFICATION, RECTANGULAR CHIP RESISTOR, PRODUCTION METHOD, AND TRIMMING METHOD

PURPOSE:To make high multiplying factor, high-precision modifications possible for a function-modification chip resistor which modifies circuit operation by correcting the resistance value with a laser after connection to the circuit, and to prevent the occurrence of resistor discontinuity even when there is excess modification. CONSTITUTION:A conductive layer 8 and a resistance layer 11 are placed on the back surface in order to create current bypass for sections which are not modified. Therefore, higher multiplying factor modification values can be obtained as the modification area increases, and it is possible to obtain a function-modification, rectangular chip resistor with a resistance element in which discontinuity does not occur even when there is excess modification.
